Day 4 was an awesome all-American day! I broke out my A2K for some catch with the kids, pulled out the glass bottle Cokes (we all know they are the best) and then did some fishing. Didn’t use the cameras much today.
One of the most enduring lessons I’ve learned while on this journey of life is trying to remain diligent in doing what I know to do even when there doesn’t seem to be an answer. I’ve learned to continually chip away at a problem until I get a breakthrough. The process of inventing something is 10% ingenuity and 90% diligence. Most people do not think about the amount of time it takes to design a simple product. However, believe me when I say a ton of time is invested! And all that investment pays off. I say this all the time and will continue to say it: you haven’t failed when you’ve lost if you can learn from it. You only fail when you quit. This old Proverb below is one of the principles that guides HF:
“He who tills his land will have plenty of bread, But he who pursues worthless things lacks sense. A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his words, And the deeds of a man’s hands will return to him. There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, But the tongue of the wise brings healing. The hand of the diligent will rule, But the slack hand will be put to forced labor. The precious possession of a man is diligence”
The precious possession of a man is diligence.
I’m fully convinced that there is nothing that I cannot accomplish if I’ve set my mind, heart and soul to it.
Diligence is without race, class or resource. It’s the one investment that always pays in huge dividends.
