Haiti trip 2006

Ideas and intentions are nothing, mindset is everything. Mindset begets action, action begets change.

Look at your life and think about the dormant giants. The gifts you’ve been given that you have not been a good steward of. We are given dreams not solely for our own enjoyment but for the betterment of those around us. By sleeping on the real passions we have, we are ignoring broken hearts waiting to be healed. Always meditate on anything of virtue, when you are given a dream, dwell on it and never let it slip into oblivion.

Life can be viewed in two ways, we have purpose or we don’t have purpose. I believe everyone has purpose, everyone has a defined place to arrive at. When a person decides to follow a dream that’s been given to them, a calling, proverbial mountains will move. We all have the power to reach our calling but so many never set their mind to do so. In turn people that need to hear your story, hurting people that need help that only you can give, will never feel the power of your call. Make up your mind and start moving.

Refuse to get caught in a moment. Refuse to stay here.

The seeds of what is now HoldFast Gear was planted nearly a decade ago while I was doing missions/humanitarian work in Haiti. Serving and being involved in another vision will help to focus your own. If you’re not sure what the next step is then find a place to serve, get out there and work to bless people around you. The photo and video work we did here helped to build a school, hospital many feeding stations and working towards 100 clean drinking wells. Serving prepares you for leading, a leader cannot truly lead without a servants heart. I still look back at these images and miss the kids I spent time with and the people I worked along side. Set your mind this week to focus on your passion.
