From the get-go, HoldFast’s allegiance lies in this: steadfast dedication to professional photographers and the systems they utilize. Committed to paving the way, HoldFast gear accentuates style while also performing comfortably and efficiently. Responsible for creating a new genre within the industry, we’re changing the way photographers look and feel while doing their best work.

In this series, you’ll hear stories of HoldFast gear and the photographers–the pioneers, the adventurers, the originals–that use them. This is How You HoldFast.

In an industry like photography, with its sometimes grueling demands and the potential to become a sought-after, high-volume professional, one can only hope that the gear purchased will somehow rise to the occasion to stand the test of time. It can oftentimes feel a little tricky, but that’s where HoldFast comes in–at least for Nick Frontiero. The Alabama photographer was first introduced to HoldFast through social media.

I follow a fellow photographer on Instagram who posted a behind the scenes image of him with the MoneyMaker and he talked about how that system saved his constant pain throughout a long wedding day.  I reached out to him and he referred me to HoldFast,” says Frontiero.

For the last seven years Frontiero has owned and operated Nick Frontiero Photography, shooting everything from weddings to portraits, to even some event and product photography mixed in.

I’ve always dual wielded cameras for wedding days. As a portrait photographer I was already carrying around multiple cameras using traditional camera straps. I was just using the basic camera straps on each camera…..on each shoulder. I shoot both digital and film so I was adding even more cameras draped across my neck and back. After a 10-12 hour work day at a wedding my shoulders, neck, and back literally felt destroyed, Frontiero explains. “The wedding hangover the next day is already bad enough, but after some years of brutal pain in those areas, I knew I had to find something new that would alleviate that type of stress on my body.”

Frontiero purchased the Money Maker about 2-3 years ago, almost immediately experiencing tremendous results because of it. “There’s no other strap set up I would ever consider. I knew the moment I put the Money Maker on that it was a game changer. I love having the cameras right at my hips, hands-free, which makes it so easy to catch candid moments as they occur, and the added safety feature has saved each of my camera bodies multiple times from crashing to the ground.”

Beyond just easing the pain in his back and neck, the caliber of the Money Maker also got Frontiero’s attention once he had it in his hands. “I noticed instantly the quality of the Money Maker. When you purchase something like this at this price point, you can only hope you get some good years out of it before it’s time to repurchase something else,” he says. Not the case with HoldFast Gear, as he quickly found out.

“I feel as if my money went towards an investment rather than just another piece of camera gear. I’ve used the Money Maker for years as a pretty high volume wedding photographer, and the more I use it, the better it feels on my body–thich is kind of insane to imagine.”

As the premier Multi-Camera Strap that started a style revolution, the Money Maker means business. It’s high quality leather is both weather resistant and strong. Says Frontiero, “There are absolutely no signs of wear and tear, or any concern of having to repurchase the product or a different product in the future. I loved the Money Maker so much that I bought the Sightseer Sling to bring to portrait and pre-wedding shoots to kind of condense my load.”

Frontiero also purchased the Roamographer, an investment that’s proved to be undoubtedly useful: “The Roamographer is the only perfect over-the-shoulder camera bag I also bring to portrait and pre-wedding sessions to carry a more stripped down gear load rather than lugging around all my gear unnecessarily. I typically carry four cameras on me throughout a wedding day, two digital cameras at each of my sides, and two 35mm film cameras, with two medium format cameras I keep in the bag. To have all that weight easily distributed was a incredible feeling, and the relief my shoulders, neck, and back gained is a savior for my body.”

HoldFast Gear has become indispensable for Frontiero, who states there’s no going back to the way things were before. “ I can’t photograph a wedding without the Money Maker system! Holdfast products are made to last, which is so comforting to know in a industry like photography. I get so many compliments and conversations from wedding guests on the Money Maker every wedding regarding how great it looks and the quality of the straps. It’s guaranteed every single wedding I’m photographing someone will come up and comment about how cool my straps are.”

Besides looking great and being reliable, Frontiero knows that his investment into quality, long-lasting gear has actually served to change the way he shoots his work.

“Without a doubt I’m much more efficient at capturing candids throughout the wedding day as they happen. I have all of my cameras at my fingertips without ever having to hold any of them. A lot of moments I naturally anticipate at this point in my career, but even the few that happen unexpectedly I rarely miss. I literally feel like my cameras are just a extension of my body. I don’t waste time throughout any shoot or wedding day kind of re-adjusting my cameras on my shoulders, or fumbling around trying to grab a camera with my hands while being locked in on a moment.  I don’t even think about it now, everything is literally right there and ready at a moments notice.”
